RUBBER TREE
Origin:India,Malaya
Description:A strong growing evergreen tree. It has broadly oval, leathery, thick, lustrous, deep green leaves. Young leaves are enclosed in apink sheath which soon withers and drops. Flowers are small,inconspicuous. Its fruit is afleshy pulp surrounding a single seed,orange to red in color. It yields latex rich milky sap.

Landscape Uses:Used as a street and a shade tree. Also used as an indoor plant
Cultivation:Propagated by cuttings or grafting. Prefers moist fertile soils and prefers full sun. Needs regular watering during establishment, light watering after establishment. Needs protection from wind in early stages . Suffers from scale insects
